The were completed with particular success Saturday, October 21, in Aristomeni, Messinia, the actions of the Information Program "Messinian Diabetes Days: We Raise a Shield of Protection", <\/strong>which is organized by the Diabetic Association of Messinia Prefecture "Glykia Messinia"! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Program, which is an important event to inform and raise awareness among the general public about Diabetes Mellitus, is being held from June to November 2017 in various areas of Messinia. After Kalamata (June 2), Pylos (June 15), Chora (June 16), Meligala (July 30), Petalidi (September 1), Kardamili (September 23), Logga (September 30) and in Messina (October 3), the ninth event took place in Aristomeni on October 21, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall coordination of the Program has been undertaken by the Assistant Professor of Pathology of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (E.K.P.A.) Mr. Panagiotis Halvatsiotis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the activities, more than 100 residents of the area had the opportunity to do FREE blood sugar and glycated hemoglobin (GHbA1c) tests, as well as to be authoritatively informed about all the latest developments surrounding the global "scourge" of Diabetes Mellitus in the packed Hall Events of the K.E.P. Excellent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the informative part, the lectures "Polycystic Ovary Syndrome" were given by the Obstetrician-Gynecologist Surgeon, Doctor of the University of Athens, Mr. Dimitrios Christakis, "Diabetes: a modern scourge", by the Assistant Professor of Pathology E.K.P.A. Mr. Panagiotis Halvatsiotis and "The diabetic patient before and after surgery", by the Surgeon, Superintendent of Surgery Clinic, General Hospital of Messinia, Mr. Panagiotis Giannopoulos, with the active participation of the public.
\n The event was prefaced by the Mayor of Messina, Mr. Georgios Tsonis, the Deputy Mayor of Messina, Ms. Georgia Panagopoulou, the President of the Aristomenou Community, Mr. Vasilios Kalogeropoulos, the Secretary General of the Union of Regions of Greece (ENPE), Mr. Dimitrios Marvelias and former President of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Chaidari, Mrs. Eleftheria Tokatlidou, while the President of the Association of Diabetics "Glykia Messinia" Mrs. Athanasia Karounou addressed a greeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall Program, which is carried out in collaboration with the Municipalities of Kalamata, Pylos-Nestoros, Oichalia, D. Mani, Messini and Trifylia, is under the auspices of the National Center for Research, Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus and its Complications (E. KE.DI.), of the Panhellenic Medical Association (P.I.S.), of the Peloponnese Region - P.E. of Messinia, the Medical Association of Messinia and the Panhellenic Federation of Associations - Associations of People With Diabetes Mellitus (P.O.S.S.A.S.DIA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
